Good old Steven Tyler, one of my heroes.

I had a great 3-4 week run of goodness and fell off the saddle today. I got some aggravating news this afternoon and that triggered my anger and paranoia. I allowed my mind to race, I began one of my famous rants, and then things sort of spiraled from there. Then I remembered that I forgot to take my meds. Thank God for my wife who now knows better how to talk me down. BP really is a family affliction, yes?

The good news is this - I can at least recognize and acknowledge my behavior now. That's the blessing of a diagnosis! Like most of us, I'm still a work in progress. I'm seeing my p-doc on 7/1, thank God for him as well. And thanks for my guitar - I played the solo from Cinderella's "Don't Know What You've Got Til It's Gone" and did great.......by my standards!

And thanks to everyone here. Day 1 starts tomorrow!

Yes; bipolar disorder truly is a family affliction. My husband bears much of the burden and I simply wouldn't survive without family. I am so sorry that stress has taken you under; here's hoping tomorrow is a better day!

My wife, too, bears my burden. In a strange way, she was "walking on eggshells" before my diagnosis for obvious reasons and is still sort of walking on eggshells because she wants things to work out. Stuff has been good lately so we all just build on the goodness and stay positive. It isn't easy, I have a lot of triggers, one of which is things not working out as I planned. I have trouble adjusting and ran into a wall today.

But I'm slowly learning to let life come to me and deal with whatever I get. Oddly enough, though, if I order pancakes for breakfast and get eggs instead, I won't complain and just eat them. Go figure!
