Does anyone here have as much caffeine as they'd like? Or is it common practice to stay away from caffeine when on these meds?
Thanks for this!

I am not currently on meds, so my reply is not really relevant....except to say I have cut down on my caffeine intake SIGNIFICANTLY....and it has helped with agitation and sleeplessness (most of the time)

I worked in a behavioral health unit a few years ago and chocolate and coke were highly coveted contraband. Caffeine itself was a major crime. However, I did use them as bribery for showering and never noticed any problems.

Personally, I MUST have coffee to wake up from my Seroquel. I do drink it (3 mugs) with my paxil which I don't recommend, definitely amps it up. Great for the midnight shift though!

Drink about a pot a day..... Coffee that is. It doesn't effect me like most people though. Probably because my intake has been pretty high for years and years

I don't have any problems with Caffeine. Paxil can be an activating med for some people.

I gave up caffeine 8 years ago cold turkey when I realized I was using it to fuel mania. After stopping cold turkey once I never wanted to go through that again and I never wanted to abuse it like that again so aside from some occasional cheap chocolate (which has less than the good stuff) I haven't had caffeine in 8 years. It was a good decision for me but I had no self-control about it. I started Seroquel at the same time I stopped caffeine so there never was any question of using it to counter Seroquel. I did take Nuvigil/Provigil for a while though when I was working.

I was drinking about 12 large mugs of coffee a day, and then in the afternoon I would switch to soft drinks
Almost 2 years ago I quit cold turkey,
It was the best thing that I've ever done

I'm constantly on a caffeine high - I'm the first to admit I'm addicted to it.

Seroquel, Paxil and caffeine
Thanks for this!
