I have been struggling with agitation and restlessness for about 2-3 weeks now. I also have had other symptoms like decreased appetite, increased sleep, some hopelessness, and lots of mind racing. Aside from when the hopelessness seeps in i feel pretty upbeat so it is not complete and total depression. Is this a mixed? A wavering between hypo and depressed? Just learning to figure what kind of episode i'm in. When i thought i was just depressed w/ sui, they marked me for billing as mixed and toward the end of all the hospital stuff marked as manic so im just confused! How do i know what i am so i can better cope?
My t and i discussed dbt again because i was at my best then. Waiting for a call back to see when i can get started. So confused!! |

That's great that your Dbt works for you and that you're motivated to start again.
And ugh that is such a blah combinations of issues. The worst. I'm so sorry. I experience a lot of agitation. There are no rules for Bipolar. They make up all of those words to try to put handles on it to treat us but these we go through have been around forever before there were names for them. Describe the symptoms to your Pdoc and they will help treat you. It sounds like it could be called mixed or maybe agitated depression or maybe dysphoric mania. Depends on the Pdoc. These might help you https://bipolarfirst.wordpress.com/2...bipolar-rules/ and https://bipolarfirst.wordpress.com/2...am-mixedpolar/ Good luck with it! I hope you feel better soon or a least find a little relief today. ![]() |

I get almost exclusively mixed states, either irritable depression (depression with some manic flavoring) or dysphoric mania (mania with a splash of depression symptoms). It's really just a matter of which way my mixed state is leaning on any given day. Sometimes I get a really heavy combo where it is several severe symptoms of both, and those are usually the times when I am at higher risk for psychosis.
