Never had a weight problem until I went on the psychiatric meds when I was 28. They were happy to have me gain it back then, claimed I was underweight.

The weight gain is very problematic. That is why I only took a few different anti-psychotics for a few weeks during mania and then stopped. I flat out told my psychiatrist that I would not take them if they caused bad side effects like diabetes or metabolic syndrome. I don't care if that makes me vain or not. Luckily I stabilized.

Well I took it yesterday after two days off of it, and it dropped me like a rock, haven't been so sleepy in a very long time. When I first started it both on 5 and 10 mg, that did not happen. I feel confident that my mixed episode has passed. Just have to watch out for depression now.

I don't think it makes you vain I think it makes you health conscious. Me and my pdoc let it get so bad for me that I developed metabolic syndrome. I've lost about 50 lbs but I still have about 50 to go.
