I'm not totally depressed but I am flat. It's like my mood stabilizers are doing too much of a good job and I feel very little joy. Yet I also don't feel the rage and aggitation. I rarely feel like socializing. I just seem to be very boring. I have thoughts of stopping the meds to see if I improve. Or maybe pdoc can add an anti depressant- I have always done well on them.

I am so sick of my job. I wait tables. I registered for grad school to get my teaching certificate and am supposed to start in 2 weeks but I don't want to do that either. I know this issue probably has nothing to do with bp but it is what I mainly think about. I just don't want to do anything.

I haven't been on this site in a long time and it kind of makes me nervous I am writing on it again bc I usually only visit when things aren't the best. Anyway, just needed to write- should probably journal again so I can keep track of my feelings.

Hey Ozzy,

I know exactly how you are feeling! The first time I stopped my meds was for generally the same reason.

I just recently started them again and noted that my excitement about life is gone. I'm not manic, which is good. The problem is that I've always felt like part of my charm is being so excited about life.

Don't give up on the medication yet. It isn't worth the low lows and the high highs.

Lamictal is a very flattening med, but if you're not wanting to do anything and are feeling little joy in anything, maybe you need a med adjustment. Call pdoc? Hope you feel better soon. Hugs.

I've been on lamictal for about 4-5 yrs and find it flattening too. In a way I like it because it allows me to take the emotion out if a problem and just look at it logically. On the other hand it does make my hubby really wonder if I actually feel love for him, or just like. I'm not a very demonstrative person anyway, and then there's the flattening.
Also I sometimes wish I feel more... umph about things. Get more excited.

Buuutttt.... since I'm bp2 and tend more towards getting in a low funk than hypo, I spoke it's the lesser of two evils.
