I'm an ultra-rapid cycler - my moods can alter drastically even within the same day causing a great deal of distress to myself and others. Recently - like over the past year or so - I have noticed that I often have an extremely agitated manic mood first thing in the morning - sometimes waking up in the early morning hours with a racing agitation. I do whatever I can to work this off without doing something stupid, though sometimes I fail and then feel even worse. Then, by afternoon, I'm usually more stable. Has anyone else experienced such morning mania? Could this be related to diet or sleep? Any advice?

Hello,
Welcome to PC. This is just a guess on my part, but some of your medicine might have worn off while you sleep. This is something you want to be sure and tell your pdoc about and see what he/she says. Again, welcome to PC. Jan

I am also a ultra rapid cycling bi polar, I find that every evening around 6pm I start to feel different, sometimes manic, other times angry, dangerous behavior at times. I think everyone of us has our own pattern. In the morn I am usually down, I feel for you because, unfortunatly I am on the same road your on. I dont even believe the drs know how to treat this condition. Hope it gets better for you~ Chris
