I have been in a happy mania for a week or so but now tonight I crashed hard. Depression is here and I am still hyper. My lithium levels are low. I really don't want to harm myself but it might happen anyway. I know my swings too well. I feel hopeless and worthless and I'm tired of being bipolar.

I'm sorry you had a crash. You definitely are not worthless and hopeless though. You're depressed. Do you know why your lithium levels are low? Maybe talk to your pdoc about it? I know what you mean about being tired of being bipolar. But I'm resigned to the fact that I have it and always will. I just try to stay on my med regimen, and continue to learn as much as I can about the disorder. Sending you good energy.

You are not worthless or hopeless. You are just going through a cycle. I know it brings up all kinds of negative thoughts when you go through a depressed state but that doesn't make them true. Call your doctor and ride the wave.

Sorry to hear about your crash. I hope you can get ahold of your pdoc and get your meds adjusted, if need be. Hang in there!

My pdoc is doubling my lithium because my levels were so low and he said we have to go up slowly. He just said I was going to be uncomfortable while we're going up. I just don't want to end up in the hospital again.
