I personally prefer to go with 18.6 lbs but I'm offended when it doubles my weight. It actually fell into pieces the other day so now I hope I get a new one. I'm having a very hard time with my body right now; I lost 15 lbs but my weight all moved to my belly and I feel fatter than ever.

I assume I'll lose weight coming off Seroquel and my dr. hopes to avoid weight gain with clozaril. My family dr is willing to put me on metformin after the drug change so I'm really hoping that will help me keep the weight off if I lose some of the Seroquel weight and if I don't it will at least help keep me from gaining more. I need to exercise but realistically if I can't make a can of soup or take a shower exercise is probably not happening. I do walk the dogs a few miles a day several times per week but that's not enough. Maybe a 50 lb weight loss from Christmas would be nice? (And with the med change actually possible...I'm on so much Seroquel that I can't imagine I won't lose weight just from being off the high dose. I just can't remember what happened the last time I came off much of it aside from this summer which was brief.

I got off of Seroquel this summer and have lost 11 pounds so far. I did change the way I eat and start exercising but honestly it feels like it is melting off and a couple weeks I haven't exercised or eaten that well and still lost. I hope it goes the same for you!
Thanks for this!

Me too! I didn't have much trouble with weight and Seroquel until I went to 1000 mg. I've been on 1200 mg for 2 years and was 1500 mg for several months this year. But then I was on something that caused some weight loss which I've held, but it doesn't look like it (I think there is something about menopause that can cause fat redistrubiton? Whatever, I need new clothes that are bigger even though my weight is lower). If I lose weight coming off, which is nearly certain since I lost my appetite just lowering to 800 mg and lost 5 lbs in a week that way it will be good. Clozaril apparently can cause a lot of weight gain but my pdoc doesn't think it will. She hasn't seen that and it usually causes gain in people who are not already overweight. And there's the metformin if it does or I don't lose the weight.

The frustrating thing is that my eating is healthy. Weird because I don't feel like cooking, but healthy enough. The worst thing I eat is fig newtons and it's not like I'm eating those constantly. But I'm just on so much Seroquel I don't think it's possible to not have weight issues.

I dread coming off it so much but I do not dread the idea of losing some of the weight. I've been on it for 8 years I think so that's lots of years of gaining on it.

I guess I'll see what happens. I am hoping I get to spend a lot of money on new pants.

My daughter wants a dolly, a book, and shapes that says "I'm Awesome!" (I know they don't make those shoes but if they did I wonder if they would happen to make those shoes in adult sizes too.) Talk about a confidence booster but annoying at the same time, thank God she's only 3 once.
