I'm not good with expressing myself or talking in general. I figured I'd write a note this time so everything that needs to be said gets said. Do any of you write a note instead?
Here it is if anyone wants to read. Is it normal for symptoms to show so quickly? I was only off the meds for a week and all this happened. Since the past month: I forgot to take my meds one time and I felt great. It led to me not taking them for a week, which was bad. Everything seemed sped up. My head was racing. I kept seeing people standing there staring at me. I was paranoid and barely getting any sleep. I was extra depressed afterwards. I eventually got back on the meds thanks to my mom and now I'm okay.

I wrote a note to try and express that I was hurting and she didn't get it she talked about everything but the subject I felt defeated I should have kept it simple

I write to T every day, just a small paragraph but my new pdoc the only time I wrote to him I was suicidal and I ended up in the hospital. However he reads what T has written. Old pdoc I use to write all my symptoms. your last paragraph is fine to give to pdoc.
As for your questions: Yes my symptoms show up immediately but it could be you were already in an episode and that's why you forgot your meds.

I have been writing down my struggles with self-care and giving it to my pdoc at every visit and that has helped her a lot with understanding how much I am struggling. I always present better than I am so if I give her the truth about showering and how hard even brushing my teeth is then she has a better picture of how I am really feeling. If she asked I would tell her this probably but I can't just volunteer it and she doesn't know to ask (she does now but she didn't) because to her I was coming showered and wearing clean clothes. So writing really helps.

If I were you, I would bring the note to you session and try reading it to your psychiatrist. That would be good practice for you. If it doesn't work out, you can just hand it to him or her.

I don't write notes per say, I usually take in a type of to do list of things I want to address if there is something compelling I think needs to be discussed.
I think writing notes is a great strategy for communicating what you need to ![]() |
