Lol!
I can't tell if exercise makes my mania worse (my therapist suggested this) or if it's just my go to self medication (beyond sex, shopping and booze) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I've often wondered that myself.

That's an interesting suggestion; that exercise is making your mania worse. I've never heard of that before. Every doctor I've met with say exercise is good for symptoms. But hey, it's possible, right? Exercise does release chemicals in the brain similar to drugs, so why not.
As for the self-mediation with exercise, I get that. When I cut back on the boozing a few years back I threw myself into exercising. Shoot, I need to do that again, I'm so far gone these days.

I'm works my really hard not to self medicate with booze but exercise is positive. So I let it take over.
Every time I've been manic, I'm working out three or more hours a day and often at odd times, like running five miles at two am. I think more than a trigger it's a road sign telling me how far I am. Also it further perpetuates mania because it makes me feel invincible Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
