So, I am currently on 60mg of Latuda, and I want to lower the dose so I have a manic episode. I'm just really scared, because I know that this is like playing with fire because I do not want to get depressed. I've been manic in December (maybe) and in February. I was hospitalized for depression last November, and was depressed this October when I refused to take enough Latuda. I had a mixed episode this Summer before that. I really want mania again, but I'm scared. I was thinking of going just from 60 to 40mg to start, but I only have 7 40mg pills left, and I don't know how to get more. And I'm too scared that if I cut my 60 in half, I'll go through withdrawal. What should I do???

I agree with Halliebeth. Messing with your meds is just not worth it. Mania may be fun but it always comes at a high price.

15 is old enough to be mature about medication, messing with your meds is not wise.

You should talk to your pdoc about changing your meds so you have more energy without going manic.

There is evidence that every episode you have damages your brain somewhat. The more episodes you have the more severe your bipolar will become.
Mania might seem attractive but what if you trigger it and it turns out to be dysphoric? Or you throw yourself into a severe mixed episode? I almost never have mania/hypomania that feels good and I would never risk causing a bad mania, which can happen to anyone without warning since it's just part of the illness. I agree with the others. If you think you need your dose adjusted you need to talk to your pdoc. It is possible to feel more energetic but still be on the meds that keep the bad things away.
