I haven't slept well in two months now. Nothing is helping and I even tried doubling the Latuda to 40mg last night. It didn't help at all. My doctor had also given me the option of trying trazodone. It's helped in the past and I would take the nightmares over the sleepless nights I'm having.

I called my doctors office and ask if she would be willing to let me try it. I don't see her until mid February next and I can't wait that long. Do you all think there's any chance that she will let me try it since I just saw her the other day?

I can't stress enough how important good quality sleep is for our mental health! I've struggled with insomnia since I was a teen so I understand the frustration. If I were you I wouldn't wait till feb. I'd either find a diff dr or call them and request a script. Quite often they won't prescribe new meds over the phone but hey it's worth a try! Do you see a pdoc? If so then call them asap. Have you tried a benzo at all? Benzos help to relax but often I'll just wake up 3 hrs later when it wears off but it's worth a try. As far as traz goes, if it helps then give it another try. However it gives me an awful hangover the next morning. Have you tried seroquel? I've been on it on and off for 13 years now and I currently take 150mgs at night. There's many options and meds that may help. Good luck and find a dr asap. I hope you get some rest and find relief!

Well they're supposed to call me back. The other day I was offered the option of Latuda or Trazadone to try so I'm hoping it will be no problem to get it. Hope!!! Idk what I will do if she says no. I can't do another month on little sleep.

The Latuda knocks my but out, I just bumped from 40-80 and I'm asleep within an hour of taking it and sleeping 6-7 hours solid. The trazodone was iffy for me sometimes helped sometimes didn't but we all react differently

I've worked in a few dr's offices and I do admit that a lot of messages go unread. Often it gets lost in the hectic busy office. It's quite hard to get time to pull the dr away just for a damn refill! Unfortunate but true. The last time I called my pdocs for a refill they didn't get back to me for a wk! Call back tomorrow and let them know the importance of your message and let them know your first message was already ignored. Good luck!

I work in a doctor's office too, and I'd have to agree. Sooo many messages get left that it can be difficult to address them all quickly. Just give them a call tomorrow, stress that's it's super important, and that your previous message wasn't taken care of.

I don't see why your pdoc wouldn't prescribe it to you. I've had new prescriptions given to me between appointments. I just had to call and ask for it.

Anyway, good luck! Not being able to sleep is nightmarish for me. I hate tossing and turning all night long!

Trazodone didn't work for me at all, but it may work for you.

I hope they get back to you. I've not gotten to sleep before 4-5 AM in a couple of weeks now and I'm so tired. I'm taking some valium tonight in an effort to really put myself to sleep. I took my meds really early and fell asleep early but my cat woke me up b/c they were out of food. Which is fair and she needed her medicine too. I didn't expect that I'd fall asleep and stay asleep on my own; that's just impossible.

I really hope the trazodone works for you.

During office hours which were expansive my pdoc office was awesome. After hours you would have more luck getting the president!

Oh not good. My pdoc had Secretary to answer the phone at all times when open and they were so good. Really nice girls who would bug him for answers lol
