People have asked this question on here a few times in the past and I always like
to answer because I worked a crazy schedule for almost 15 years.
Always off hours and very little sleep because of it.
It was the worst thing possible for a person with bipolar.
It was impossible for me to get my bipolar under any kind of control.
I made some very bad decisions during that time and my judgement was
way off. It was a terrible roller coaster for me.
I would never ever do it again. If you are bipolar my suggestion would
be to look very hard for a new job.

I work nights (only 2 nights a week right now though). It's not so bad. I'm guessing I would be a bit more stable if I had the sleep schedule of a normal person, but I kind of like my schedule. I've worked evenings or nights for most of my working life so I don't really know what working 9-5 would be like. Even when I was in school and was getting up at 7am I wouldn't go to bed at night until 3 or 4am. I think I'm just a night person (who also doesn't need much sleep). I know that's not ideal, but I don't know how big of a deal it is. Maybe someday I'll have evidence one way or the other. Though I friggin hate mornings (and traffic), so having a day job sounds awful to me right now.

I will be starting nights full-time soon after orientation in days. I also have two sons
I think if it was just me no problem would sleep when I wanted ect but I'm worried about the full time night shift on top of single motherhood
We can hope for the best lol

I worked the night shift for awhile. I actually loved it, because my boss wasn't in then, so it was low-stress.

It didn't affect my mood very much. I was actually really stable the whole time. But I was on good meds, and had just finished getting some very effective therapy.
