Are you ip?
I never liked lithium either. A girl in my NAMI DBSA support group takes it. Her hands shake like she has Parkinson disease. Sad.

I react very well to lithium, but everyone has different bodies and brains.

Aquarius33, I know the computer connection is comforting. But it could be making your insomnia a lot worse. Most modern computers and mobile devices give off a blue light. Blue light on the light spectrum activates the optic nerve and the brain.

When I couldn't sleep for years, I either used my computer or iPhone to read. When I was inpatient in December one of the counselors mentioned that a major cause of sleeplessness is staring at those devices and basically waking your brain up with the light.

I got a cover for my iPhone screen that blocks blue light. Everything looks a hair yellow, but I have found it actually works. I stay tired and head off to sleep so much better at night. At first I thought that my pdoc had prescribed really good sleep meds, then I found out that is was only on a very mild relaxation drug.
I try and limit my screen time shortly before bed regardless.

I hope you have some great sleep.
Pleasant dreams.
Thanks for this!

You can download programs that turn your blue light on your computer off at the time the sun goes down. Mine was free. I think it is called nsync. It is weird to see the screen change suddenly but it works.
