I decided to go back to my Dr to get back on my meds Friday and she put me on lexapro and busbar. I took one dose, ONE DOSE, and couldn't stay awake Saturday! The few brief times I did wake up, I couldn't bring myself to speak to anyone, just a blank stare on my face, then I was back asleep again. I slept all night Saturday night and was finally able to stay awake this morning but I'm still moving very slowly! And, I'm supposed to take the busbar TWICE A DAY?? I'd almost be in a drug induced coma if I did! I STILL feel like a walking zombie.
I'm curious to know what affect busbar has had on others.

I took it once before and cut the pills in 1/4 size doses.
Then took them twice per day.
But I wasn't on Lexapro at the same time.
Maybe these meds aren't right for you.

Wow, sounds like when I was on zyprexa, but I was never on buspar and lexapro didn't do anything like that. You should call your pdoc tomorrow because I think this counts as an unacceptable side effect.

Busbar caused serious agitation.

I take buspar. It doesn't make me tired. I'm not sure if it's doing anything in all honesty. Maybe it was the lexapro?

Buspar makes me tired. When I first started taking it I felt like a zombie, but that cleared up after a few weeks. When I first started wellbutrin I stopped needing caffeine, but the buspar counteracts that to a degree, so some days I still need caffeine to get going. I take 10mg morning and night (20mg total daily). Lexapro never made me tired, so I think it's the buspar.

I've never taken BuSpar but I know Lexapro doesn't make me tired. You should tell your doctor this.

Neither lexapro or busbar did anything for me. They did nothing for me...not one way or the other.

Celexa (a similar med) made me manic, Buspar made me anxious.

We really react differently to all this stuff!

But I plain refuse taking a med that knocks me out like that. It could be very dangerous actually, I've fallen and hurt myself several times when I was too sedated but really needed to pee or get some water.

Any sane doctor would review the meds and suggest another med for the one that did this. If they were started at the same time, not particularly clever of the doc, they should not do that since many people get bad reactions and you need to know which med it was.

If the doc says ride it out, if it was me, I would really stress the severity of the situation.

She gave me 20 mg of Lexapro and 10 mg of busbar that I'm supposed to take twice a day. I've been ok Lexapro before and the only side affect was that it made me sick at my stomach for the first 3 days. I think I'm going to start the Lexapro first and get used to it again, then half or quarter the busbar and see how things go from there. I'm supposed to see the Dr again next month to let her know how I'm doing on the meds.
Thanks for all of your responses!

Are you suppose to take both medicines twice a day or just the BuSpar? 20mg of Lexapro is the max dose for this drug, and if taking that twice a day, well your taking twice the maximum, which could explain stuff. If it's just the BuSpar, I'm not familiar with the situation, so I can't help you. I'm sure if you looked into it more, the information would appear. Hope this helps .
