Those of you that are on disability, how do you fill your days? I'm starting to get restless. I'm looking for a DBT program, but they're hard to come by where I live. I feel like I should be doing something else with my time. I'm starting to get antsy.
Thanks for this!

Try taking up a couple of hobbies. I was painting and doing artwork, writing and reading a lot. And exercising, doing nature trails.

I do voulenteeriing with a foundation that resumes orphans.
I'm the kitten specialist.
A long time ago I worked at a State mental hospital for the retardation.

I developed programs to get outpatients. These people had spent their whole lives and n the institution.

My friend takes care of a 97 yr old guy from her church.

I took care of my grandparents at thier home because they wanted to die at home. Not in an old folks home.

I binge-watch the Law and Order shows and work on my writing. Sometimes I think about trying to find a job but can't think of anything I could handle mentally OR physically, which is why I don't volunteer either. I hope that will change one day, because I'm way too young to sit around waiting to die.

its horrible, especially when you don't have a car everyday. I'm learning guitar, movies, video games, reading. but it gets boring. Hopefully, soon I can get a full time job. I want to start voulantering at the animal shelter as I'm told is rewarding. I have a dbt therapist but only see her once a week and so far havent done ant dbt work. yee
