Hello,

I have problems truly understanding what I'm told.
Also I notice that people don't understand what I say most of the time.
Nor the words, but the meaning. I can see their faces like uh?.
I was in sales for 45 yrs and I have no problem pushing a product.
Maybe this is a new thing with age now. Or is this some kind of personality disorder or plain stupidity. What's you call.

BTW, I need a shower and a shave. Too ashamed to say this. But is true.

I can understand where you're coming from, and I wish I had some advice. But I will let you know I too have not showered today. You're not alone..

Hi Gina,
Very perceptive. I wan't going to put it in the title. But I had to let it out.
Only 1 day for you?. I've lost count. I hope is less than a week. But close.

A lot of times I can't get across what's in my head it comes wrong or completely not like it sounded inside. I get frustrated and just stop. We call it vomit mouth syndrome lol.

Day 3 no shower here. Your not alone!

No matter how small, a positive change deserves to be celebrated!

The name is not appealing, but at least I'm not alone. Only I don't stop
Sometimes I'm not sure of what I said. Also, I don't refrain at all.
Whatever comes to mind goes out, even if is offensive.

Instead of a shrink we're gonna need a sanitation crew. Haha.
I calculated and today is day 4. Tomorrow I'm changing the sheets.
That will force me to take the much need shower. The shave can wait.

That's only because I had to be out yesterday with my mom shopping. I've gone up to five days without one. Only because I have to go into my office twice a week. I work from home the other days. If I have no where to go, I rarely see the point these days..

Hi Pirilin. I started brushing my teeth in the shower. That way I go under the water.

Sales was my main job too.

Do you think journaling will help you learn to get your point across?
Or is it meds you're on?

I find the opposite: no longer understanding what others say or how to answer their questions. Like in my support group, I will answer a question only to get, in my opinion "looks," and then we'll move on to someone else who will give a completely different "correct" response. Have I become an idiot? I don't know. But, I question my comprehension sometimes.

I showered yesterday but have gone DAYS in my deep depressions without one. As for shaving, ha! It's the winter time. You can forget about it.

Hi Ocean,

Thanks for the tip. I'll try brushing in the shower.
I've never tried journaling. Maybe a couple of sentences here and there to start will do me good.

I love journaling. In fact I wrote it in this morning. I write to get out things that are bothering, more like an outlet. Not something to go back and read over, rather it just gets the loop of depressing and angry thoughts out of my head.

What you find is not the opposite. It's the same thing I encounter.
Comprehension problems. And the answers, please. I've started a couple of
fights with what comes out of my mouth.
I'm gonna start blaming "them" for not understanding me, haha.

I have problems being understood sometimes. In fact, two of my college professors recognized this very quickly. They both (independently) told me that I understood more than I was able to communicate. I would basically try to explain something to them, and they knew I understood it well, but what came out of my mouth was sort of gibberish. I had difficulty translating my thoughts to speech.

This usually happens when thoughts are racing through my head. I have so many things going on up there that it's hard for me to coherently explain what I want to explain. I think it's a symptom of hypo/mania for me.

Do you have racing thoughts or anything like that? Or I might just be a weirdo

This is so me! I understand many concepts, but when I try and explain them to people, it does not come out the way I would like. It makes me sound like I don't understand at all, when I really do!

So here's a thought. A lot of times a one part question turns into a million part question inside the head?Does this sound familiar to you guys too? So if you break down what you're trying to say like explaining it to a simple person maybe what's trying to come out will actually make sense to someone who doesn't think like us. I myself probably couldn't do this as my thoughts race and as I said its poors out whether I want it too or not but I suppose with practice it could work. But then there's too many more questions. What information is important what needs to be omitted. Where does that lead me and what was the question to begin with? Lol maybe we are just too complex!
