I've read from a few of you that you sometimes skip your meds. I'm curious as to how one is able to do so. If I skip a day, I feel absolutely horrible so I avoid doing so at all costs. But then again, I'm on a lot of s**t. Is it that if you're not on a heavy cocktail you don't feel as bad? And skipping a day here and there doesn't make a difference? Just curious. Please do not make this a debate. This is my own personal curiosity.

Personally I try not to skip, but once I miss one dose it spirals out of control and I can't seem to keep track of if I've taken them or not. More than once I've taken double the dose because of that. I finally got one of those day of the week pill boxes. That helps a lot. When I skip pills my I become a hot mess

Well for example, I was hungover last week to the point where I couldn't even hold down a sip of water. So I didn't take my meds that one day and I was fine. However if someone was physically dependant on their benzo for anxiety, I imagine they would feel bad after skipping something like that. I don't know for sure though. But yea that's just my experience

About a year ago, I decided not to take my APs one night because I had to be up really early the next morning. Well, not only did I not sleep worth a damn, but I experienced the entire bipolar spectrum in one day! Another time I was out of Klonopin for several days and started going through withdrawals. I haven't skipped a dose of anything since.

When I was on pills I would skip them if I was planning on drinking. I don't think I ever experienced anything negative but I was also inevitably hungover the next day so...yeah. The only led I could never skip was Effexor. Withdrawal from that is awful.

Now I'm on a monthly injection and a patch so I don't skip. And I'm prescribed to put the patch on every other day so I end up spending a day off the patch anyway. So far it's been working for me.

I could not skip the high dose of Effexor that I used to be on, now I can not skip Xanax. Skipping benzo's is not a good thing. Other then that I can miss a day on my other drugs if something happens, but I try not to.

If I miss my morning meds i start feeling "funny"...dizzy and with a headache...by the late afternoon.
This doesn't include a benzo I take prn.
I know you don't want a debate, but please people, take ur meds as prescribed. Work it out with ur pdoc if you want to change.
If ur doc won't help, get a new doc.

My doses are not very high. I had a migraine with puking for over 24 hours and didn't take any meds, then I just decided to stop taking one. I don't really know why, except I am frustrated at being dependent. It did send me spiraling into mania and depression...not sure where I am at now...mostly confused I guess. (this was last week)

Omg what would we do if we got abandoned on an island without meds?! Freak out by ourselves and sweats from withdraw lol. At least there would be no one around to witness it. I'd get a volley ball friend like on castaway for sure for when I'm having psychosis

Skipping my morning meds just marks me feel out of sorts later in the day. Skipping my night meds means no sleep which leads to days of feeling bad. Not mania or read depression just feeling physically bad. If longer than a week I'm in real trouble and could head for an episode. My night meds need to be very slowly weaned off in order not to have physical problems and lack of sleep that could lead to mental troubles.

I used to be a big skipper. I wouldn't take my seroquel if I have to be up and around early. I also would seriously forget sometimes to take my Paxil and lamictal. When I was younger I was really bad taking my pills for whatever mood I wanted up or sleep.

I had horrible withdrawal symptoms when I went off of Paxil for a few months. HORRIBLE! I thought I was dying. My family can tell after 2 days if I haven't taken my Paxil. I've accepted that I will probably be on it for life. I don't EVER want to go through that again!
