Sometimes (like my most recent post - ) I really need a safe space to just spill everything that's racing around in my head. I don't really need anyone to read/respond, I just need to be able to write it somewhere. I don't keep a traditional journal, because I believe my husband would read it (he did once - haven't written in one since). I would love to have a place on this site where I could do that, but not necessarily create a post. I don't mind if people here would read it, but I don't want to clog up the forum with a post that isn't looking for someone to read it or for feedback...

Is there an option here that does this? Or does anyone have something like this they could guide me to? Right now PC is my only 'safe space' to talk about/write about things that I don't want to share with my husband. (Often that includes things that might be hurtful to him if he heard/read - and that I may or may not actually mean in reality, if my BP weren't affecting me at that moment.)

Can you start a blog on blogger (free) and password protect it but don't give anyone the password?

I never thought of that - good idea!

--Just tried, and it's part of Google. I leave my gmail account open on our shared computer all the time - would that make the blogger account available whenever I'm logged in then? I'd rather he flat out not know that I have a blog at all. He's insatiably curious, and if he knew I was writing something, he would ask me about it. A lot. And it would irritate the snot out of me, make me feel like I have to lie to him about the content, and probably hurt him that I'm writing things down that I don't want him to see.

If you have a smart phone, there's a great journal app called Day One. You can use it on your phone and/or computer, and you can choose to have it sync between the two.

(thanks smallwonder for reminding me of the correct name!)

I just keep a Word file. You can password-protect them. I find it very helpful to write stuff down.
Thanks for this!

Yea I use a similar one called Day One. Good way to see one is manic even when I don't notice otherwise.

Thanks for the suggestions. It looks like Day One is only for Apple platforms. Our home laptop is a Mac, but if I have an app he can see & knows I'm using, I might as well just use the Pages function on here & password protect. I really just don't want to shove it in his face that I have stuff I need to write that he can't see...

Blogging is definately a good option.

When I was about 17, 18ish I started blogging in a secret journal online. It was totally anonymous and you couldnt read without logging in/a password that way if someone even goes through your browser history they couldnt find what you had written anyway. I cant remember what the site was called unfortunately but im sure you would get somewhere with a quick browser search.

Nowadays I am more accepting of my condition and my rants so my blog is public. Ive come along way since the angry and frightened teenage girl I used to be! I think logging your throughts and comparing them over time has been a useful tool for me.
