Hi! I am usually a pretty positive, chipper person and my bipolar leans more toward hypomania. This month, however, I've had 8 days where my mild depression and/or obsessive thoughts (along with moderate anxiety) have been frustrating and bad enough for me to write them in my mood calendar. My next appointment with my psychiatrist is April 7. Should I wait it out or just go see him early? I've been self-medicating with lots of caffeine (which actually does help, unless it makes me a little bit anxious). :-/
Thanks! |

If you're concerned, go in early if you can. I mean why not? Better safe than sorry.

I'd say definitely try to get in earlier if it starts to effect your daily life. Unable to get out of bed, poor hygiene, loss/increase of appetite, missing school or work ect. I'd say I always have a bit of mild depression but I don't want to risk being on an AD that will send me through the roof again. But I do speak up when it gets to be unlivable.

I think they usually say about 2 weeks but if it's a noticeable change and others have noticed it I say call and ask.

If you're getting dark intrusive thoughts, then go sooner rather than later.
