Lyrics often play through my mind and speak to me.

For example, 'She walks along the edge of where the ocean meets the sand just like she's walking on a wire in a circus' Counting Crows song called Round Here. This is how I feel when unwell. Unstable and in a precarious position between life and death.

Does anyone else find lyrics speak for you when unwell?

the entire song, feel by robbie williams

i find it always going around in my head, and then when i need reminding i'm not alone, i have to blast the song- and sing along

another lyric that always meant something to me was,

"everytime i try to be myself, it comes out all wrong like a cry for help", from demmi lovato's song heart attack

justin beiber's song " what do you mean" has grown on me, for the exact reason.. that i can relate to the lyrics.

tori amos- upside down (which i always swear was written for me)

amanda palmer- the point of it all

skillet- the last night, and also monster by skillet

I'm doing a lot better. I think the trileptal is giving me some weird stuff with my vision, but that could just be exhaustion. My hands get shakes at weird times too. But overall mood is much better. A lot more level.

The Great Pretender by The Platters (also sung by Freddie Mercury; also by Queen).

More SZ (disorganised) than BP (me being very much between those).

Of course I loosely interpret: "you" is plural and means pretty much everyone but me.

Oh yes I'm the great pretender (ooh ooh ooh) Pretending I'm doing well (ooh ooh ooh) My need is such I pretend too much I'm lonely but no-one can tell Oh yes I'm the great pretender (ooh ooh ooh) Adrift in a world of my own (ooh ooh ooh) I play the game But to my real shame You've left me to dream all alone Too real is this feeling of make (make believe) believe Too real when I feel what my heart can't conceal Oh oh, yes I'm the great pretender (ooh ooh ooh) Just laughing and gay like a clown (ooh ooh ooh) I seem to be what I'm not you see (ooh you see) I'm wearing my heart like a clown Pretend that you're still around Yeah-eah, wooh hoo Too real (real) when I feel (feel) what my heart can't conceal Oh yes I'm the great pretender Just laughing and gay like a clown (ooh ooh ooh) I seem to be what I'm not you see I'm wearing my heart like a clown Pretend that you're Pretend that you're still around.

Keep an eye out for any serious side effects and I'm sure you'll be ok. Trileptal was my savior and got me on my way to stability. Good luck!

I started taking trileptal right around the same time, so one of them is doing a lot for me.

The entire song, Like A Rock by Bob Seger.
The words really capture a mans life and at my age now
I often find myself lost in thoughts of the past and the
bitter sweet of life.
The lyrics of the song really hit home.

Sometimes late at night, when I'm bathed in the fire light
The moon comes calling a ghostly white and I recall I recall
Like a rock.

I live for music when I'm depressed. There are too many songs to name that speak to me!

This song for me just makes me think of being sick and feeling like life has been taken from me yet still trying to accomplish life goals at 23...

"Well fortune favor's not the young
Spoken word's and song's unsung, right?
I never learned from my mistakes
I guess I don't have what it takes, right?
I wish that I was strong, that I could walk away
All this time I've lost, I feel the cost repaid
So save today, the secret's that you prayed for
And wait, cause we deserve it so much more
So save, the secret's that your prayed for, awake
I'll see you on the other side..."

I like David Bowie's:

I'm invisible and dumb
And no one will recall me

I like this from Radiohead's "Fake Plastic Trees":

If i could be who you wanted all the time

I like this from K's Choice's "Not an Addict":

I'm hip, i'm cool, i feel alive

I like this from Holly McNarland's "Numb":

I feel better when i'm numb
