Do you think it will ever be possible to have a machine mimic the thinking and behaviour of someone with BP?

Should this machine also mimic the brain?

Yeah, I certainly think it's possible. Google has its own robot called "Atlas". It can open doors, as well as walk around without tripping, falling, or running into things. It can even lift boxes and put them on a shelf. If it falls (like if someone pushes it), it knows how to pick itself up. It does it all on its own, too. It's basically programmed to "think".

Here's a cool video of it:

There's also a robot named "Pepper" that is trained to read emotions. You can see it here:
Thanks for this!

The machine is already made. Me. If they pay me enough, I'll be more than willing.
They can wire me like a computer terminal. Just give me the foods I like, sex, which has to be part of the study, and wire a lot of money to the Caymans.
Ah, and some computer time with the crazies.

Shhh! Don't talk about studies here! I don't want this thread closed or deleted.

Interesting, bluebicycle! Thanks.

But it should actually trip for it to be BP, though. But would one need a brain to think or just a mind? Can a mind exist without a brain? A brain without a mind?

Seriously, can a robot or other computational machine make the mistakes we make? Believe in say, someone watching them (gathering data or something) and having evil plans or just feel threatened? Could it ever develop psychological defences like displacement (thinking that, say, one particular person is the root of an evil found elsewhere)? Could it hallucinate?

Would you think I'd be able to make someone pass a Turing Test, just by the "sciency" way I write?

Game idea!!

Oh, ****.... now I do it myself!

Which film? There are like 10 or something, right? Not willing to watch them all.
