When I'm depressed my employers noticed because my work slowed down and I couldn't function well. When I am dysphoric I get angry and that caused me to get fired more than once. When I'm hypomania they think I'm the perfect employee. I'm smart, confident, very productive, and can work circles around the other employees. Unfortunately the hypomania goes away and depression follows.

No one IRL knows my BP diagnosis. They think I just have depression.

People notice some symptoms. But just think it's a personality quirk. They don't see the full spectrum warranting diagnosis
Thanks for this!

I don't think so unless they are really close to me, and even then I am not sure.

It's not my business what others think of me. It's only my business what I think of them.

people can tell, and i've had people come up to me and say " you act very bipolar", or " are you bipolar?",

sometimes it's a lot more visible.

i'm not good at hiding anything.. guess it has it's advantages and dis advantages

Nope. My husband knows about my diagnosis so he usually asks me if he thinks something is up but nobody else seems to notice.

Due to my history of abuse I am very good at hiding my emotions so I can cover up anything that is not severe. I do this as a survival mechanism. Saying that my family and friends do notice my mood shifts. Most know I have BP so it's generally ok. Work colleagues might comment on how 'chipper' and happy I am but not realise I am BP having a hypomanic episode. When I am very unwell on either end of the spectrum I am generally in hospital or hiding at home so only a few people see me like this.
