Woke up at 3 am again with heart racing, chest pains couldn't catch my breath. This went on all day. I was ready to go on and die so I did nothing about it. Finally called a friend and they urged me to go to the er, so I did. They did an ekg and some blood work. They made me stay overnight, gave me some ativan which did the trick. They said it was the Geodon, which has a rare side effet of cardio problems. Also, all the meds I've been on and off on in the last couple of months; med induced anxiety. The discharge papers said chest pain. Whatever. Now I'm on 600mgs seroquel, 100mg. topamax and 400mg. tegretol.

I'm so sedated, drowning in a sea of seroquel. I can barely climb the stairs. Gravity is stronger than before, so hard to do anything. Mania all gone after weeks of flying, now takes max effort to do anything.

I'm sorry you went through that but glad you went to the ER to have it checked out.

Wow, that's scary. Glad you went to the ER.

Did they say if the cardio problems are permanent?

I'm glad you got that checked out and that it turned out alright, zijax. Sorry you're feeling down though.

600 is really a lot. Are you sure you need it? Is it all immediate-release? Do you take it all at once? 400 is indicated for SZ maintenance, but I use slightly more (and "need" it), but not all immediate-release.

That's similar to what happened to me when I was on geodon! Once I went off of it the heart fluttering and pounding and breathing problems went away. I hate that med. It was awful. I'm happy you got it figured out.

Sorry you had to go thru that Zijax but glad you ruled out anything too serious. I went to the ER last year with chest pain and it turned out i was just having pain twinges in my heart due to anxiety about my puppy who was also sick in the hospital at the time. Go figure! It hasn't happened again, thankfully. My dad died of a heart attack so i was quite concerned. It was a relief to find out it was nothing serious.

You really hit the nail on the head saying it feels like gravity is stronger on Seroquel. I've been on if for years and gained weight and slacked off. I'm going to see my doctor this Thursday at noon to ask for weight-neutral meds. Someone suggested Saphris. Maybe that, or i'll see what my doctor has in his bag of tricks.

Hopefully you are more stable now. I am glad I've never had to go.
