Yeah, I'm a total party pooper!

Today is my 25th birthday and my friends want to celebrate, but they want to celebrate at a bar. Well, I don't/can't drink ('cause of meds and stuff), so I told them "Yeah, I'll see if I have time today. Might not 'cause I have family over." (which is partially true)

I've never told them I'm BP and I've never told them I can't drink alcohol. I feel sort of sh*tty hiding it from them, especially since they all drink.

To be honest, I LOVE being by myself. I just want to spend the day sleeping, relaxing, watching movies, and browsing the internet. (Yeh, kind of lame.. I know! But that's my idea of a "perfect day".) I'm going out for dinner tonight with the family because we're going to celebrate mother's day and my birthday at the same time, and I'd much rather do that than go drinking.

It's sort of hard to relate to other people my age when they all seem to love drinking. I don't mind being a party pooper, though!

Happy birthday bluebicycle!
It's totally cool wanting to do your own thing. You can think of it as Bluebicycle Day. The celebration of which entails doing what YOU like to do!
Have a good one.

i'm not exactly a "social animal" either, so i'm not too interested in parties. then when you add in the drinking, i get totally put off.

some of my friends treat parties as a contest to see who can drink the most without blacking out. not my thing

tho when i was hypo, i went to my friend's "yay we're graduating college" party and drank 5 flaming shots. i had no idea what i was doing. i somehow managed to drink them without burning my face off

Happy birthday

I don't think that makes you a part pooper at all...it makes you smarter!

Happy birthday...today is my daughter's birthday too.
I find events to be exhausting.
We are going to a son's graduation on Friday and then a baseball game on Saturday. I hope I can make all of these without crying.
Whenever we go to a dinner party, we are the first to leave. It is what it is. I'd like to see the rest of them hopping around on my meds.

Happy Birthday bluebicycle and fishin fool!!

I've had a friend invite me out several times and I always decline because they all drink and I do not (if this was ten years ago, heck yea I'm down!). The invitations slowed down. Or I would accept the invite and cancel later. I've grown out of happy hours and I'm fine with it.
Anyway, your birthday is all about you and what you want to do on your day. So enjoy!!
Thanks for this!

Happy Birthday Bluebicycle and fishinfool!!! We celebrate birthday week in my family, it's just a time to do special, little, week-long treats for the celebrants...no alcohol, cuz that wouldn't be a treat. Hope you both have someones nearby to wrap you up in kind considerations!
Thanks for this!

Thanks everyone.

Birthday was fun. I got to hang out with family, relax, and re-watch 4 of the Star Wars movies! It was pretty fun, and much better than going out drinking with my friends.
Thanks for this!
