Today i have lived in my present home for 11 years! I had terrible trouble with moving compulsively in my early thirties. I'm now almost 50. I think i lived in five cities in two years. Moving is so disruptive. Well: it seems that problem is solved!
Anyone else had a similar experience? |

And then some. I lost count. Wait. Made a list.
Answer: 23 times as an adult. 6 of them added up to 15,000 miles (Each ranged between 1,300 to 3,000 miles. Googled them just now.) The rest were more reasonable distances. Even since 2012, there have been 4, including 2 of the 3,000 mile ones (there and back again within 3 months, heinous mixed episode). I'm a little older than you. Too old for this ****. I want to stay put. (I did stay put for around a decade once. Amazingly enough.) Congratulations, apfei! ![]() (P.s. Thanks for the mathmatical distraction.) |

I've pretty much always stayed in one place for at least several years, but do agree with you that moving is disruptive. I always feel unsettled when I move and it always makes me second guess my decision.

I've lived in the Boston area my whole life, but I've moved around in different parts.
Lived next to Fenway Park for 6 years. Now living in the suburbs as of 1 year ago Moving is definitely disruptive, but I haven't moved a whole lot |
