Sometimes I wonder why I'm still here. For example, today at work I completely lost it and started crying all because one of my coworkers claims I was trying to take his job away from him. My supervisor stuck up for him and said he was only joking. This isn't the first time something like this has happened with the same individual.

I thought I was handling this new diagnosis well, but apparently I'm not doing such a great job. FML

I've cried in front of my supervisor before. Why? I couldn't tell you. Please be gentle with yourself, you will get through this.

It's funny you say that about being gentle. I have essentially been saying the same thing to one of my best friends, who's been going through a tough time the last few months. Apparently I need to work on practicing what I preach.

It's always easier to give advice than to apply it to your life.

Yes I think a lot of us do. I know I am very hard on myself and get frustrated when I can't control my emotions. It's hard to accept, but it is what it is. I've cried in front of my boss too. It sucks.

Tomorrow is a new day. Clearly, your supervisor doesn't currently know what's really going on with your coworker, but if this continues to be a problem it will hopefully become clear to your supervisor.

If you have the weekend off, try to do some things that lift your mood. If I tend to have more crying spells, I am usually depressed. So my advice is to get lots of exercise and sunshine and be around people if you have people you like to be around. Caffeine helps me a LOT on depressive episode days, so treat yourself to a coffee or two (or three or four... if you're like me! ) if coffee agrees with you. HUGS!! It will get better.
