Only every once in a great while, mostly social drinking to be honest.

Nope. The doctors who put me on lithium during my first hospitalization in 2002 told me to stop drinking alcohol, so I stopped. I tried drinking a little bit (I mean a small mouthful) of red wine a few years ago, and ended up falling asleep almost instantly. So much for that! (I blame the Seroquel).

I'm advised to not drink on my meds but I have the occasional drink. I've never been a big drinker and wine really bothers my stomach now so I don't even have a glass of wine with dinner or anything anymore.

I was drinking... Most times were great. But other times for some reason I would black out. Even when not having a lot at all. I think it was the meds, and how they would interact .
Best of luck ! |

I love wine and sometimes drink beer. Lately I've been going out a lot and drinking beer more often.
Not on meds though, so ... and I barely ever have hangovers.. Last time I drank, I slept for 3 hours and woke up fresh & new ![]()

I used to drink like a fish ten years ago. Once I stabilized on meds, I feel no need to. Alcohol actually tastes weird to me now.

I drink...a lot...daily. Meds have never affected the amount or how often I drink. It started during a mixed episode but has continued for around 10 years.

Although drinking isn't the best idea on medication, I try to only drink 1-2 glasses of wine, maybe a night or two a week. Then, maybe 3-4 here and there on a weekend, but not every week. Basically, I drink in moderation most of the time. I notice I drink much less than I used to ever since starting Lamictal. It makes me get to a point where I don't feel the desire to drink, or I won't feel too good. Back when I was on an SSRI years ago (which made me go crazy), I was drinking and craving large amounts of alcohol. I'm glad I don't drink as much anymore, although sometimes I wish my tolerance was a little bit better. On nights of heavier than usual drinking, I find myself not taking Seroquel since I do not find that to be a good combination at all and probably not that safe.
