My pdoc is cross-tapering Latuda with Abilify. I started out at 120 mg Latuda and now I'm on 60. I was on 5 mg Abilify and now I'm on 10mg Abilify. Pdoc made this sudden change all at once. I'm on day 6, and I've been having palpitations on and off and anxiety a couple times a day. My GP has put me on a beta blocker for the palpitations, anxiety, and my high blood pressure.

Anybody else have these problems coming off Latuda? How slow did you taper off? I've been on it for about 3 years.

Yeah, I became severely depressed and suicidal. It happened to me TWICE when I tried to quit, so I know it was not a coincidence.

I don't think my symptoms are the same as yours, though.

Thank you! My anxiety is often part of my depressive episodes, so that makes sense. I don't feel as chipper as usual, too, so it could be a slight mild depression (I get anxiety more frequently than I get depression).

Yeah, that's probably it

Latuda can be nasty to get off of. How are you weaning yourself off it? Are you going down by 20 mg each time? Or did you go from 120 right to 60?

Edit: When I went from 40 to 0 is when I got severely depressed. If you're not going down by 20, it might be a problem? I can't say how long it'll take for your symptoms to subside, though. I've always jumped back on Latuda when I couldn't handle the depression.

I went cold turkey off it again for the 3rd time (I'm currently not on it anymore), but I became manic from Adderall at the same time, so I think the mania somehow offset the depression. lol.
Thanks for this!

I just stopped Latuda about a week ago maybe, after also switching to Abilify. I don't notice anything, I know I've been very depressed lately, and Latuda did help with the depression, but stopped helping my hallucinations, so idk if I'm in a depressive episode because it just happened out of the blue, or if it is also the Latuda having an effect on it as well. I know the depression has been here since May. But to answer your question, no I haven't seen really any withdrawal symptoms from the Latuda.

Jumped straight from 120 to 60. My pdoc is not good about gradual tapering. I'm going to ask him if I can do it more gradually with getting off the rest.

One thing I'm noticing is *almost* hallucinating. Like, seeing things out of the corner of my eye, and it turns out to be just a shadow. Or hearing things that are really not as big of a deal as I thought (like the sound of the A/C or refrigerator), as I was slightly alarmed by the sound. It's like my senses are slightly heightened, but I'm not manic. I'm totally chill (almost flat). I'm not really worried about this symptom, as I'm not *really* hallucinating, and I have no other symptoms of psychosis.

At least my heart palpitations are getting a lot better and I had no anxiety attacks today. Yay!!

Ended up going up to 120mg of Latuda instead as my depression was real bad. How have your withdrawals been going? Really curious now I am on a high dose.

I'm still on 60 mg Latuda (I see my pdoc this coming week and he'll probably lower it further). Upon further consideration, I think my heart palpitations are my increased Abilify, not Latuda withdrawal. I decreased my Abilify on my own back to 10 mg (I was on 20) because they got so bad and I can't see my pdoc until Tuesday at the earliest. :-P

Thanks. Are you having any other withdrawal symptoms from the Latuda still? I am concerned I am on such a high dose but it seems to be working after about 5 weeks. Still I would like to come off it sooner than later if I am in for bad withdrawals. Hope you are doing ok.
