I stopped my abilifye shot and at first noticed nothing. Day by day, though, I'm getting shorter with ppl, constantly aggravated , on MAJOR edge like I'm going to burst soon. Is this one of those symptoms you have to ride out after stopping a med ? Itsort really uncomfortable

Sweep the streets I used to own
I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing
Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!
One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

I find myself taking melatonin in the middle of the day to induce a sleepy level of calmness I can't achieve another way

I found myself in the same situation when my doctor stopped Ativan, it's been 6 weeks now and I am just about back to normal.

Yes! When I had to change pdocs for insurance issues, he had me titrate my Trileptal down because he thought I was depressed and not bipolar. I became so irritable and snappy with everyone. Once I realized what was going on, I found a new pdoc who got me back to my original dosage and everything was fine. My body is so accustomed to this dosage that any minor change throws me off. I know it's higher than most (1800mgs), but it really is what keeps me sane and so I refuse to change it ever again. The most recent time was I was challenged was November. Just the next step down to 1500mg had me annoyed again. Never again.

I would say you're in a mixed state from stopping the med. this happens to me every time I have to cut a med cold turkey. I recently had to cut my stabilizer cold turkey because of dangerous side effects and I had the worst mixed state ever which absolutely involved anger. It didn't get better until I started gabapentin as my new stabilizer.
