Wow, I'm tearing up while I type this...trying not to cry. I opened that DBT Workbook for Bipolar Disorder. It looks very good, but it apparently is very triggering for me. I literally was physically ill and now all this emotional rush.
I put it away for now. I'll be needing to do this workbook in small chunks or maybe with a therapist. It reminded me and made me realize how messed up I am. I guess I'm faking it a lot more than I admit to. I'm not trying to be "fake"...I'm a genuine person as to others. As to myself? Not so much. I just realized that. I could use a big hug right now. I don't even know how to describe what I feel. I feel like I'm disintegrating, I think. Whoa. |

I totally get where you are coming from, I have been doing awesome since my last SI/Inpatient stay. And then I realized in therapy that I have been pushing away the issue that led to that episode. I feel like such a phony!!!
I hope that you can get to a place where you can use the DBT skills, while they are some of the hardest to master. I think that they are some of the best for us with BP. You can get through this, and it is ok sometimes to fake it till you make it. (((hugs)))

I had a DBT workbook (currently lost) and when I would read through it, I would get emotional too...couldn't figure out why. I totally understand and I'm so sorry you are feeling so terrible. Working with a therapist on the book is a good idea. I hope these feelings pass for you soon. (((Hugs)))

(((((Big Hugs)))))) That's been my reaction sometimes, too. So, I headed to Distress Tolerance, and did that work for awhile. Believe me, tiny bits work well.

Big time bear hugs for you. I had a rough couple of nights too. Always remember, this feeling will pass. One good thing about our disorder is that by the time u understand what u are feeling we are swept away off to another one lol.

I just got that same workbook because i couldnt get a class. The whole book together might be scary to you. To do it w a therapist mite work for us both, or to just xerox a small section at a time and work on that, pehaps with a buddy.
