So I have two weddings coming up. I realized I never had a wedding date. Me at 36 have never had a wedding date
 . Now one is a co worker which would be nice to have one but not that urgent. Now my best friends where I'm in it I definetly would love to have a date. In fact I feel I must have a date. His wedding is sorta destination for me. He lives in Florida so I'll be there for a week, to get fitted, throw bachelor party, rehearsal dinner and I'm not gonna fly in and out in a weeks time so some sightseeing. What do I do? Do I hunt for a girlfriend? Do I ask someone casually to be my date. What steps do I go through, what's my strategy? Been a while since I've been with someone.

Since you will be in the wedding in Florida if they are having a formal sit down dinner you will be sitting at the table with the bride and groom. If you take a date to the dinner your date would be seated at a different table. How soon is that wedding? They usually have to confirm number of dinners with the caterer one to two months in advance of the wedding. If it is not a formal sit down dinner it would be simpler to take a date.

For the florida wedding, if i were you, i would talk to the groom about it. Find out if there will be other single groomsmen and bridesmaids. Think about the details. Would your new girlfriend be expected to take a week vacation with you, or just join you for the wedding weekend? Maybe you could take a scuba diving class or something during that week. Go to Busch Gardens? Lots of possibilities.

Try going to some meetups that are geared towards some things that you are interested in, that is a good way to meet like minded people.
