Sometimes I drive people nuts because I can't stand when things stay the same. For example, I don't like when tasks at work are the same conceptually, I don't like when I talk to someone and they say the same thing all the time (lol), and I don't like when my environment is the same. The last example in particular makes me go crazy! I can't sit still and I want to move around because I get bored sitting in the same place all the time (hence work sucks sometimes). I NEED CHANGE. Change is literally one of the most important things to me in my life. (Is that weird?)
I dunno if anyone can relate. Might just be part of my personality or because of my ADHD. I have no idea. But I just needed to vent because I couldn't do any work yesterday! |

I need a basic routine, but I totally get what you are saying blue. So many tasks within my job are so routine I can't stand it. Everyone once in awhile I will shake it up a bit.

I can't handle change at all. I need everything to be routine and the same or it makes my anxiety skyrocket.

Seriously, guys, I can't stand routines! I'm totally anti-routine.
This is probably why I'm sooo disorganized... but I mean, I just go nuts if I do the same thing at the same time every single day! I also get anxiety when I DO have a daily routine. Basically, if something unforeseeable throws off my routine, I freak out as if it's the end of the world. I don't even know why I get anxiety like that, but that's a small part of why I don't have a routine. |

In general I prefer having at least somewhat of a routine. That being said, I can relate to your work scenario. I find myself squirming around a lot because I get bored or frustrated if I'm stuck doing the same thing for too long. Thankfully I have a few things to do at work so it isn't so routine all of the time.

I can't stand routines either, blue. I feel like I'm being put in a box and it makes me want to leap out of it lol
I was very routine driven when my daughter was a baby. They make the routine lol Nowadays, I like to change things up but I'm getting stricter with myself about going to bed at the same time. |

I have a few things I do routinely every day (take meds, go to sleep at a certain time). But most of my day is unstructured. I probably could use some more structure, but I haven't figured out what to do just yet.

I need change, too!
I never cook anything using a recipe. I just make it up and can never duplicate it. I would be very happy to move around or even live in hotels. I don't like going to the same shops and seeing the same people all the time. I didn't really connect with enough people here and I want to move on to try somewhere new. I get bored of people when all our stories have run out and we get too tired of each other. I don't want to throw them away, but I want to keep meeting new people and hearing what they have to say...learning from new people. I can do routine for the things that must be done. I do like some routine to a point. I feel like I am driving in a little square around my town to all the same few shops and it's very boring. I loved doing plays where it would run for a while, then there would be a new one to learn. I would have been so content doing that for my whole life, but that didn't happen. At my job, it does have great variety and is always different, and I like that, even though I have been too depressed to really function at the job lately. I do go on binges like watching a whole series of a show. But then I tire of things and go on to other things. I suspect I have ADHD, and have hardly ever finished anything, sabotage my success, quit things usually, like to move on.
