Based on a recent thread, I'm wondering if anyone else looked pregnant while on seroquel. I'm not talking about gaining overall weight. I mean that I specifically look 4 or 5 months pregnant if I don't super suck my belly in.
This pregnant-looking belly has been really, really bothering me the last few months and hugely impacting my self-image. I can't get it to go smaller even when I go off sugar for a month or two. I'm quite active - my phone says I average over 45 minutes of walking/activity per day. So this belly issue hasn't made sense. I didn't realize it might be due to the seroquel, so I'm wondering who has had this exact experience?

I did. It sucks. I've been off of seroquel for awhile now and I still have a little left over belly from it. I feel like it completely changed my figure!

Yeah Seroquel was an absolute nightmare for my weight gain. If you're having issues with it maybe your pdoc can help you transition to something more "weight neutral".

I'm not on seroquel, but I have developed the pregnant belly/bloating on clozapine, and my family members legitimately think I'm expecting since the rest of me is skinny as always...

I did and since I went from Seroquel to clozapine which is even worse for weight it has just increased in the last 7 months. I'm hoping to get put on metformin later this month but my doctor said something that sounds like he changed his mind about doing it without my blood sugar being higher so we'll see.

My boys say they are getting a little brother or sister because they think I am pregnant. It is awful. I have gained 50 pounds because of Seroquel.

I'm 5'3" and 211.4 pounds and have a huge pregnancy belly. I would like to blame it on Seroquel but i've had it ever since i went on serious meds when i was 30. I'm 50 now. I wasn't on Seroquel when i started out. I'm on a diet [lifestyle change] but it's a struggle. I know when i lost 65 pounds ten years ago and got down to 160 i still had most of my belly. Apparently, it's the last thing to go. Oh joy -- NOT.

I've been feeling sad about this since I realized last night that my favorite fall jacket is not going to fit this year. I'm frustrated in that clozaril makes me really hungry at night after I take it and I've been being pretty strict about what I eat at night yet I have not lost any weight. And the big belly means the jacket and who knows what else won't fit.
I weight 101 pounds more than I did when I started psych meds and stopping what I'm on isn't an option. I need to exercise more but I'm so tired all the time. We're trying to balance the meds out on that but it's tricky. So I guess I'll continue to look pregnant forever.
