I've seen a lot of people throwing around the idea of a chatroom, but I think a chatroom might be difficult to coordinate/organize. So, I thought it would be cool to create a "chat thread" where we can all chat about different things BP related (or not) so that we can get to know each other better and have a little fun. So, it's *kinda* like a chatroom, except in thread form.

It's based off this thread here:
http://forums.psychcentral.com/psych...mate-chat.html

Feel free to ask for support, promote your thread (e.g., if it gets pushed to the next page), get to know each other, etc. Hell, talk about things you like doing or what you're currently doing. This thread is totally open to whatever you want to talk about.

I woke up early today to finish up some work, but my team lead decided to set up a bunch of meetings at the last minute. Adds some stress to my work day since I have stuff to finish by 11am.

But otherwise, I have a pdoc appointment later today to get a med change, so I'm looking forward to that.

I also like this thread a lot, but I don't always know what to say: http://forums.psychcentral.com/bipol...gs-us-joy.html

I'll say something.

I have to call the insurance people today. I have state insurance right now, but got a letter in the mail about them not being able to match up our social security numbers? Which I find confusing because it's the same social security number I've had since birth so I don't know why they wouldn't be able to match it up. And I have to pick out an HMO, which is difficult because of how far away my husband and daughter live, and it still has to cover this area. So it has to cover two areas that are way far apart.

Sigh.

I don't know why everything has to be such a hassle.

Good luck at your pdoc appointment, blue.

Thanks

Good luck with your call! Hopefully you can get the social security number issue sorted out. I agree it seems weird.

Insurance is always a pain, too

If it makes you feel any better, Massachusetts sent me my reimbursement for my taxes, but they completely spelled my last name wrong. My last name is very common! Now I can't even cash the check!

I'd be so mad, blue. Can you call them and do something about it? I'd want that money.

Thanks bluebicycle. I'd make a phone call about that check or just cash it, you don't have to lose out on your refund because of their error

It was alright.

My room and bed smelled like dried urine.

Actually, everything in the room pretty much did. I had to wash all of my clothes when I got home because they smelled bad.

And they wouldn't let us use our own shampoo, so my hair was all knotty and frizzy and gross the entire time.

So, I guess, other than having a urine smelling room and gross hair, it was okay. lol

My favorite fragrance too. ha. ha. ha.

It was so gross. Seriously. I didn't have a roommate so I switched to the other bed, which only had a faint urine aroma.

But the other one I would lay down and immediately smell old, dried urine.

I was complaining about it, and someone else said that her bed smelled like urine too.

They really should do something about that.

I learned the hard way that I shouldn't drink a lot while on my meds, and that even missing two doses of.Geodon will give me withdrawal effects. Yesterday wasn't a good day, and I'm recovering still today, all from fun Sunday night.

Do you guys/ladies ever have a symptom that seems....concerning - but it only happens once? This happened to me a few weeks ago. It hasn't happened again. I'm reluctant to mention it to my pdoc unless it happens again. He's kind of like that mindset, too....how often does it happen, is it persists it, could something else explain it, etc.

I'm reluctant to mention it for two reasons (plus it only occurred once):

1. I like my AP, but I worry about long term side effects. I figure the lower the dosage I could get away with, the better.

2. I think it could launch an exploration into the possibility of another diagnosis tacked onto the ones I already have. It wouldn't "conflict" with my current ones...I just don't really want another one?

The symptom was unusual to say the least. But I did not harm myself. Or anyone. I was under lots of stress at the time. I think a one-shot deal. What do you think?

Rainy, I think I'd probably talk to my therapist or pdoc but they both really encourage me to tell about anything and then determine if it matters. I know that I could say "this happened and I think it was stress and can we watch it if I promise to tell immediately if it happens again" and they'd be fine. They'd be less fine if I said "um, this happened 6 months ago and now again". But that's partly just because of my history so I can see going the other way too. I know I'd WANT to not go into it yet though.
