So for the past week I've been hypomanic after 6 months of depression and mixed episodes and I was happy at first but now I'm confused. So for last couple of days I've felt bugs crawling over me, I even changed my sheets (something I rarely do on my own, I usually forced to cause I'm depressed af) I was so sure it was bed bugs but my dad checked (we've had them before) he said I'm being paranoid. Then for the last night I heard knocking on the door and sweeping noise outside my window during the day, again my dad said he heard nothing. I've also had vivid dreams for the last two weeks leading up to my mania . I can remember everything to a tee its scary. Is this because of anxiety? Am I just being paranoid as my dad said? The bugs crawling on me is driving me nuts btw.

See a doc. I'm sure that the hypomania was a refreshing change from six months of depression, but what you're going through now doesn't sound like any fun.

I know, I was on a high for a while but now I'm just freaking myself out, I was so sure I saw someone on the front seat of my dad's car, I nearly s**t myself. Thing is I can't see my pdoc for another month and my GP doesn't take me seriously so I'm on my own for a while and I've had really bad experiences with pdocs anyway, so I don't really trust anyone at this point fully.

Do you have any APs you can take on a PRN basis? What you're describing certainly sounds like the early stages of psychosis.

I actually have no APs, I stopped taking them a long time ago (under doctors supervision) cause I'm bipolar 2 and never experienced psychosis or full blown mania.

Phantom crawling things and visual hallucinations aren't really something I would wait to address. Is there any way you could get help sooner? Not trying to tell you what to do, but if it were me I'd want to do something about.

The thing is this has NEVER happened to me before and everyone around me keeps saying its nothing so that's what I believe. The earliest appointment I can get is the 27th because I don't drive and my dad has to take me and my doc is fully booked.

I forgot to add my dad's solution to the problem is to go to a 'healing camp', my dad would put religion over science any day. I've already been through the ringer, exorcised and stuff just for suffering from depression, if I actually have psychosis and full blown mania I can't imagine the reaction I would get.

Dang, that's rough. In the early days of my diagnosis, I was advised to pray about it and everything would be OK. Without meds. Oh yeah, that didn't turn out so well.

Trust is something a lot of us struggle with I think, at least I know I do. As I told my therapist last night...my trust issues stem from growing up and having been picked on and essentially being bullied by other kids for things that happened that were out of my control due to a birth defect I was born with. I keep a big distance from me and those I meet until I feel I can trust them.

For me its that every time I try to open up, people brush me off, or with my mum, she tells others without my consent. I've learned in this world to trust no one, not even yourself(especially when manic)

There's truth right there - Don't trust yourself when manic. confused and irrritated

I've been psycotic before and it can get out of hand real quick. If it was me I'd go to the ER to get the meds before things get worse. Just my opinion....

favorite quote from the movie, "ET"
when Elliot tells his friends in the park what they have to do to save ET from the scientists, Greg asks, "Why doesn't he (ET) just beam up?" to which Elliot replies, "This is REALITY, Greg!"

Response-- i find when i tell the secretary WHY i want an earlier apptmt that it helps- the person can relay that info to the doc. Insist nicely that they do so. Hugs!
