So my life is pretty much blowing up in my face right now. A lot to do with finances. My dad and I were fighting because I had $800 a few months ago and I blew it all. In like... a week

I've done it in the past, but thankfully not recently. Ever since I stopped drinking and smoking weed, I've been 1,000x more stable.
When I was IP, I had a nurse who talked about this stuff. She said that in an over-simplified way of thinking, the alcohol and substances compete for the same receptors as the BP meds. They bind faster and tighter; therefore, if you're drinking and drugging it's basically the same as being "off your meds." I hate that phrase, but based on personal experience it seems she was right. I know it's not perfect neuroscience, but it works for me.

No you're right. Using does feel like my meds aren't working as they should.
