Does anyone here ever feel sad when manic, like maybe cry at something sad?

I honestly can't even tell my mood anymore. It's either manic or mixed since I'm getting very little sleep and I'm hallucinating. Though today I'm not sad like I was yesterday. I feel amazing, in fact.

My mood kinda flips depending on the day. I go from "super f#cking awesome! Yeah!" to "God, I wish I didn't exist." Would this be mixed or what? Or am I just experiencing sadness of some sort? It's so weird

Also, my eyes hurt from staying up so long

Only if I'm in a mixed episode do I get sadness.

Sounds mixed to me. I have been in that state many times. I know what's its like when you can't even sleep but your eyes want to close so badly.

I would guess mixed also but I'm not sure anymore if I have any insight about it at all. There have been times when I've thought I was depressed, but then look back and think I was hypo.....times I thought I was dealing with high anxiety and I'm told I'm manic....times I think I'm manic and told I have anxiety.....I really doubt I have much insight at all. Sorry I cannot help. (((Hugs)))

I definitely cry during mania when it is mixed. On rare occasion, I will even cry during mania when it is not mixed, but when there's some irritability. For instance, if I do not get my way when manic and my expectations are not met, then sometimes I will cry out of frustration.

When I'm mixed I cry and I'm mad at the same time. Then I can go to being just depressed for a while. Then to manic. I was hospitalized for two weeks do to this

I totally believe you're experiencing mania with mixed features. It sounds familiar to me because I've been through those episodes too. Hope things improve for you soon.

Yeah, that's why I'm so confused. I just can't tell anymore. I get SI right now, but then a couple of hours later, I'm enthralled by nature's beauty and daydream of all the wonderful things in life. Then I wish I could live forever.

@luvyrself and bizi:
My pdoc just said to take extra Seroquel. I took so much because I was depressed that I slept 14 hrs instead of the 2-4 hrs that I've been getting

I hope it doesn't get to the point I have to go to the hospital, although I haven't had any hallucinations today, so that's good. Maybe Seroquel is doing something.

Thanks. I hope things improve soon too. And knowing me, I'll probably get over this within a week since I'm rapid cycling.

I'm sure things will improve very soon. That was my first mix. I've had another after and my pdoc gave me Haldol, Benadryl and Ativian. I was ok afterward. I did not need a hospital
