I think this is the WORST thing I have ever taken. However, I am completely off any type of anti-depressant now. I am Bi Polar II and have been in a major depressive episode for months. Any ideas or experience with Latuda I'd love to hear!

Why is it the worst thing you have ever taken? For me I was on Latuda for four months on doses up to 120mg a day. It was for depression and did nothing for it which is why I came off it. I felt no side effects on it except decreased libido.

However when I tried to come off it I experienced a lot of bad side effects. I went from 80mg to 0mg. So I went back to 80mg and titrated off it slowly and only experienced mild side effects. I feel more in touch with my emotions now I am off it.

Since then I have started Cymbalta and after a month that has eased my depression.

Why is Latuda the worst thing you've been on? Along with Lamictal, it helped pull me out of a major depressive episode.

Im on it now. I had to reduce the dosage because it was making me extremely anxious. I'm still anxious now, but it isn't as bad.

I love Latuda but I started takeing it for psychotic symptoms. It got me back to reality pretty quick without side effects. Saved my mind! I'm not taking it for depression so can't talk about using it for that. I take Pristiq for depression, another drug that I like. Hope you can sort it out with your pdoc.

Latuda is the bomb!

favorite quote from the movie, "ET"
when Elliot tells his friends in the park what they have to do to save ET from the scientists, Greg asks, "Why doesn't he (ET) just beam up?" to which Elliot replies, "This is REALITY, Greg!"

I was diagnosed about 10 years ago. Was doing really well for years, then had to take care of a grandmother with late stage Alzheimers who was abusive, separated from my husband and I am a single Mom. Things have been rough. I had a major depressive episode in January and I don't feel like I ever really made it out. Since taking Latuda, taken off my Zoloft and adding Lithium back now, I was suicidal. This has been for the last four months or so. I am so angry all the time. Meds just are not right and I feel like I don't know whether I've been manic or depressed or both.

Sorry it's not working out for you.

It didn't work out for me either. Well, it seemed to at first, but then I got some severe depressive episodes and it didn't prevent them or help much with the symptoms. I had to up my dose in order for it to help, but it was too sedating for me. I had to go off it altogether.

1. Psychotropic pharmaceutical effectiveness and tolerance are different for everyone.
2. Latuda blows.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Everyone seems to pretty much love it. Maybe it's the lack of anti depressants? Does everyone take anti depressants?

I don't take an antidepressant. Taking the standard SSRI/SNRI antidepressants are a crap shoot with bipolar. They have the potential to precipitate a manic/mixed state, which is why they are typically coupled with an AP for us.

I was taking Viibryd to get rid of the depression. It only added to my anxiety, so I stopped taking it.

----folks, i know this sounds too easy, but exercise helps so, so much. The tendency is to think well if i had time to do that i wouldnt be miserable.
Make time for yourself period. Swap time with another single mom.
Thanks for this!
