I'm currently going through psychosis and it's really hitting me hard. I unfortunately had to cancel my pdoc appointment due to scheduling issues. I won't be able to see him for 2-3 weeks.

So I have to live with it until I can go to the doctor. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to deal with the hallucinations (visual and auditory) and the delusions. Plus I can't sleep.

Hi. I'm having hallucinations today, too. Are yours scaring you? Can you tell they're not real?

How much seroquel are you taking? Can you call the pdoc, report not being able to sleep, and ask for Ambien in addition to Seroquel? Chances are, if you are able to sleep, you will have less psychosis just as a positive consequence of being well slept. I would strive to fix sleep.

It might be helpful to do things that calm you so you at least can try to prevent the symptoms from progressing. For instance, warm baths and singing help relax me. That could help you get to sleep as well. Have a plan in place in case things get worse and you need emergency treatment before you can see your pdoc. I recommend writing down symptoms every day until your appointment so you can see patterns and if anything has escalated. It would be good information for your doctor to have as well.
Thanks for this!

I really think you ought to consider IP based on what you said yesterday and today.

Yes. My pdoc says this to me all the time: if you want to lessen symptoms and help the episode pass faster, try to fix your sleep because a lack of sleep fuels manic and mixed states.

I slept last night but not the night before. (Not tired at all.) Could that cause hallucinations today?

Some of them are scary and some are just people simply by me. I can usually tell that they are fake, but sometimes it's hard to tell.

I'm only taking 200mg. My pdoc is usually very busy and his nurses answer the phone. It usually takes awhile for him to get back to me. I've been trying a bunch of different meds to try to sleep but nothing is helping. I can't ask for an ambien until I can actually go see my pdoc.

I might take a bath, but the bathroom is very triggering for me. It's small with barely anything in it so it causes extreme dissociation, like real bad. I have to keep the shower curtain half open and listen to music when I shower. I am writing everything down as the days pass.

IP scares me to death so I'm trying to avoid it at all costs.

This is interesting....when I get bad paranoia....my husband needs to sit in the bathroom with me if I'm ever going to shower. I'm sorry you suffer with this...without my husband here it would probably be weeks at a time where I can't shower sometimes.

That really sucks. :/ Sorry you have this too. I have no one to sit in the bathroom with me so I have to rely on my music and the pictures on the wall that I stare at to try to get back to reality.
