odd things you did while in psychosis

I took my road bike, with the lock and some other gear, downstairs, so that it would get picked up by thieves.

It was in Sept 2015. I have now finally bought a new bike and remembering that incident started wondering what other people have done while psychotic.

I used to write on the walls in different languages. I only know English and Spanish, but I would write some things in Latin that I would translate later. Also, I believed gravity would change so I would hold on to the couch. Much more, too much to list.

I wrote and sent a letter to my former boss praising her, in hopes that she would not get the FBI to investigate me.

Also, I sped to the store to get multiple keys made up, got a speeding ticket in the process. I hid the different keys in various places. I was convinced if I didn't do so, something bad would happen that I would be blamed for.

I honestly don't know. I've only been psychotic once and I don't remember doing anything weird. I had delusions and hallucinations. I know I had paranoia because I thought my uncle bought my grandma a new garage door because he wanted her house. ??! I don't know..

I was convinced my bathtub was going to fall through the floor. I was already terrified that someone would break into my house if I was in the shower and couldn't hear and then I decided the shower itself wasn't safe. But I had to shower so when I wasn't actually taking a shower I would get inside and jump up and down trying to get the inevitable fall to the basement over with when it couldn't be combined with being attacked because I had water running and couldn't hear. I spent quite a bit of time doing this and trying to figure out how I could be safest in the inevitable fall (curling up on a ball on the floor versus laying flat versus standing)...I was very devoted to my delusion.

walked across a busy city street on campus because I thought I couldn't die. slashed my sisters tires because I thought she was out to systematically destroy my life. those are probably the two most extreme. I don't think I was psychotic when I pulled a knife on someone, just suicidal.

I put paper on the wall them scrubbed pencil over it....the texture on the wall had secret messages of vital importance on it and using the paper and pencil trick helped me decipher the code. I tore up my car because I was sure there were secret message hidden in the stuffing of the seats.

I do all kinds of odd things all the time. I think behaviors I have adopted during psychotic episodes out of necessity, have become habit for all mental states.

One example would be searching a vehicle before I get in to drive it somewhere. I have to look for stowaway people or animals that could sneak attack me while driving. I look for illegal substances or items that may have been hidden in the vehicle to frame me when one of the dozens of agents or officers who follow me decides to pull me over. I sometimes check that the tag number still matches the registration, and that it hasn't been changed to somebody else so I could be in posession of a stolen vehicle. I always visually inspect the exterior surfaces and check light function, but still people sometimes react to me driving by like there is some poor pedestrian clinging to the bumper waving to others for help. I always wonder what the heck they see, that I am missing.

I thought I was being haunted by a negative entity. I wanted it to go away so I would write that on little pieces of paper, burn the paper outside, put the ashes in water and then flush the ashes down the toilet.

I ran around in nothing but my socks with pink paint in my hair. It was november and I wound up hypothermic. My girlfriend called the police who called an ambulance

I spent a whole day looking at pictures of hawaii, because i was convinced I had tickets for a vacation their, I even packed my stuff and got the case to the door

I smashed a window because it was part of a dangerous peace of runway, and I didn't want an aeroplane to crash through my bedroom window

I convinced myself the internet had closed down for good, and started trying to connect using a stuffed lion (like that was the secret to private internet)

punched someone in the face because I thought they were made of jam (just don't ask)

Mine.is.tame.compared to you guys, but I would walk around my house with a baseball bat looking for the voices I was hearing... Also I.thought I could telepathically communicate with me cat And I stopped talking to him and just talked to him in my head. Not good to do when he was attacking me.

I let my black cat out when I was psychotic, and I thought that he and I were communicating.
