I really don't know where to put this at but the pdocs have told me I'm bipolar so I'll start here , It 's funny but I am a real mystery to myself , I have always been good at understanding things about others but with myself not so much I've thought about this for a very long time and I'm wondering that if maybe because I grew up in an environment that made it necessary for me to be very aware of what some other people were feeling that I never developed actual feelings of my own but I dont know I may be way off just wondering if I am on the right track or not to understanding this pdocs dont seem to understand me either and i have been going to them for a very long time , It looks to me as if they believe me to be an addict even after many many many drug tests but I guess I could be wrong on that

Were your parents addicts- even alcohol? Just had a thought because my dad is an alcoholic and was since I was a kid and I have always been way tuned into other people's feelings and emotions.

I'm tuned in to the feelings of others too. I too believe it's from my upbringing and stems from reasons similar to what you've stated. I'm not very good at deciphering my own moods and issues. I guess I'm too close to the source or something. my mental illness probably doesn't help matters.

I'm sorry you are struggling and your doctors can't figure things out. How long have you been seeing these doctors? When were you diagnosed with bipolar?

No neither of them were alcoholics or addicts when I got older but my father was a violent drunk when I was very young but I barely remember it he quit drinking when I was very young but he kept his mean streak for me for a long time after that

I was diagnosed bipolar 5 years ago I take lithium and it does help but I feel nothing on it at all but I guess thats better than feeling bad all the time I started seeing the pdocs like 20 years ago

My parents wernt addicts , my father was a violent drunk when I was a kid but he quit drinking when i was young I barely remember it but he kept his dislike for me the rest of his life , my mother had a pretty hateful streak as well sometimes but not all the time
