I got discharged from the IOP but I can still go to the groups if I feel the need to. I do tend to go manic in November anyways. I don't really like the people in the group right now which is why I asked to be discharged. If I went I don't think I'd share this information with them.
I guess I know I should, but I just need some encouragement

Encouragement on this, yes, absolutely! I understand how people you don't like in a group can be off-putting, but there would likely to be turnover. Your well-being is paramount, so all positive steps should be taken towards that goal.

If you are feeling that you should share that with the group, but are afraid and would like encouragement, here is some from me. If don't want to share this with the group, please DO share it with someone among your providers, ok? It's too important not to.

I think you should go and be honest with at least the people who are running it. I understand not wanting to share these feeling with a peanut gallery of strangers who are looking you in the eye....it's not comfortable for most people. But you talked about it here and it would be smart to discussed it with a professional who is trained in these matters.

Ah I know I should go but I really don't want to go. Do you see my dilemma?

If you CAN go, just do it. The PTSD treatment my insurance provides is group therapy based....I really don't want to go and in the past COULDNT go....but now I can and will. I do see your dilemma and it sucks to be in that situation, but sometimes we must do what we don't want to do. Sometimes we must fight with every cell in our body and force ourselves. I'm sorry you are in such a situation and my heart goes out to you. And something I always forget about when I'm in crisis is calling a crisis line. It's an option too. (((Hugs)))

When will you see the pdoc? The problem seems to merit individual attention - whether you go to group is probably not as important as whether you share your plan with a professional.

Wait, what? This is a little more important than whether or not you should go to group.

Seeing the pdoc there is hit or miss, I might see him tomorrow or not, but since I'm going for aftercare and doing poorly I'm guessing I will. I have an appointment with my t on tuesday who is trying to get me to see a new pdoc.

Please tell the pdoc about the plan. You need a medication change.
