Something happens and it goes from super happy to very bad in a matter of seconds. I'm not sure what happens and if I could stop it from changing I'd win a Nobel peace prize I think.

An exciting prospect. Either a crush on someone of a business idea usually. Both usually end up terribly, but sometimes they work out. Like I discovered I love raising snakes and have 12 now, lol.

With me it's no sleep, caffeine and I start listening to hip hop and dancing (stimulating activity lol). To this day I have to be careful with the music. I can't do song after song. Hip hop makes me manic. One other person on the board said music makes them manic too

All of these for me too...I left out in my post that stimulating activities contribute to my mania, and yes, usually with people. I feel that everything is such a great idea when I'm hanging out with people and unfortunately gravitate towards other risk takers during mania. It hasn't ended too well for me.

I have an appointment with an intake hospital on Monday and will begin an IOP and some groups for PTSD and whatever else...probably DBT which I was already wanting. They gave me a short course of Klonopin which is working far more than I expected. I didn't expect much but it's really helping me get through a rough patch right now. I could be in the ER anytime as it turns fast but for now I feel safe with waiting till Monday. I hope you get the help you need to feel safe again. (((Wander)))

Very true. My husband is trained and I'm not going to argue when he says it's time to go. I should pack a bag just in case though. You stay safe too. (((Hugs)))

If I'm on a antidepressant with no mood stabilizer oh my straight to mania I go! I was misdiagnosed with depression and put on one. My mania was terrible so bad that I was correctly diagnosed by two others

Weed. It's the bane of my existence. It helps the ups and downs for a while, then eventually sends me into mania and psychosis. There's actually a term for it, "marijuana psychosis." Pretty descriptive, eh?

Oooooh, yes -- and just light altogether. I've noticed working on projects on my table (where the lights are close and usually 3 of them to better see multiple angles) that I can really start ramping up fast (and want to stay up all night and never stop). Lol, one time I really recognized it when I started hearing things. Shut it down! Take the meds and go to bed!

Stress, excitement, lack of sleep, caffeine. There's probably some other things too, but I can't think of them right now.

Caffeine, lack of sleep, stimulating music, and exercise. I'm not physically active normally, so when I get that rush of energy I start cleaning everything that isn't running for the hills (usually in time to that stimulating music) and it feeds off itself. The hypomania feels good, which is why I let it happen...but then when I become manic, I get the angry, hostile kind of manic and it's not pretty. I'm on a lot of medication so that doesn't happen much anymore.
