I usually only leave for my T, pdoc, and my monthly driving practice on an easy road. So, 3 times a month. But today I went to petco with my mom after she got off work. There was like 2 people there so I went in. We petted all the cats for a long time and browsed at the other animals. There was a ferret following me from his cage, so I stuck my fingers through the opening and petted him! We then went to Walmart. I was dissociating all the car rides, couldn't help it. Anyways there was a tonnnn of people at Walmart so I stayed in the car. I did start to get paranoid. That the people coming out of the store were coming to get me and that my mom wasn't coming back ever. I was also hallucinating unfortunately. I was seeing disfigured people and creepy shadows again. It was terrifying. Overall I had a good time. I got some fresh air and finally left the house.

It sounds like an adventure...scary at times and fun in others. I'm sorry you had the scary stuff but glad you had some fun petting our furry cousins

It was an adventure it was really fun petting all the cats. I absolutely adore them. The ferret was cute too! It did really suck on the bad parts. I really really hate the hallucinations and paranoia. It's like I just can't have one decent day...

I was just on your coping thread and thinking this.....could you get a pet? I use my cats a lot for reality testing. If the one who can still hear doesn't react to something I'm hearing that's a good sign that it's not there. If he does react then I know it's probably the chipmunk that lives in the crawl space above my house. I've even woken him up to see if he hears something before. I also know that nobody is in my house when he is acting normal.

There are noises coming from the drain in my bathroom....sounds like something is trying to scratch and claw its way up through the drain pipe. Must be something under the house but it gives me the willies. I can't afford another mouth to feed so it better stay down there!
Thanks for this!

jtasser, Congratulations! Wow, it's great that you got out. And I'm thinking the same as BeyondtheRainbow...if you don't have a cat or other pet, could you get one?
Thanks for this!

That's a good method! I don't have any animals currently. I want a cat but not sure my step dad would allow it....since it is his house...I hear that a lot. I'll have to talk to my mom about it and maybe she can convince him.

Thank you so much and I answered about the cat in another reply. I don't have one but want one. Not sure if my step dad will allow it so will have to see!

Awesome. Get out there kiddo, the world is waiting!

Rule 1 - if there's any place you definitely want to go, it's PetSmart.
Rule 2 - if there's any place you definitely DO NOT want to go, it's Walmart.

Other positive considerations would be an ice cream stand, a butterfly garden, or a pancake breakfast.

Other negative considerations would be Home Bleepo, the Apple Store, or a Jets game.

I'm trying! Haha. The driving is going slow but I'll get there.

I've never been to petsmart, I'll have to check it out sometime. Are there cats? 😄 And I do not everrr go in Walmart. I wouldn't go to those other places either.

Thanks for all of the positive ideas!

My mom said yes to a cat!! Unfortunately there's an adoption fee, about $125. So it might be awhile before we can afford it, plus have a reserve for food and what not. Now to just get my step dad on board.

I hope so! Getting my step dad on board will be hard. He doesn't like change or being responsible for something. Heck I don't even think he likes me that much. Plus the money. He'll complain and quite possibly say no just for that reason.

That is so sad that you don't feel your step dad likes you. I love my step son like he's my own...cause he is. (((Hugs)))

Yeah it's unfortunate. I mean he likes me to a point but I just don't feel the love lol. I'm pretty sure he likes my sister better. Since she isn't as visibly ill I guess.

Thank you <3 maybe he'll see me in a better light once I'm finally stable. Who knows how long that will take though lol. I've been trying for 3 years, I know others have been trying for a lot longer but still..maybe I'll have my sister ask for a cat.
