I started Lithium, and was angry and felt awful. They uped my dose and a few days later, I'm angry again, but just feel blah. Flat is the term my boss used to describe me. I also feel depressed, I don't want to do anything at all but I'm lonely too. How does this make sense????

This same thing happened with me when I tried lamictal. Every time my dose would increase I'd get mixed and very VERY angry. I had to quit the med. Maybe lithium just isn't for you. Everyone reacts differently to each med. definitely talk to your pdoc about this.

Lithium wasn't a good led for me. I'm sorry you are going through this. How is your lithium level? Does the doctor think it's where it should be?

how long have you been on lithium? It didn't do that to me but we are all different.

Except for the angry part lithium did that to me too, it made me flat emotionally and I couldn't do much cause I was tired all the time and apathetic. Yet I wanted to do stuff. That made me not be with people much thus the loneliness of which you speak.

That's funny, I take Lamictal and have for years with no issues. I thought this was because of the Lithium but for some reason, both my previous Dr. who I despised and only saw a few times, and the new Dr. seem insistent on keeping me on this ad trying and giving it time. I think I'm going to have to out my foot down and say no. He told me last time that even though he was increasing it, he thought he would need to increase it again.
Seems to me that if something is making you feel worse, upping the dose won't make you feel better???

It's only been checked once, when I was on a very low does, so it's not within therapeutic levels at all. I have only been on the higher does about a week and a half and before that about a month. Just not willing to keep feeling worse and worse to see if it will straighten out with more and more drugs. I think it's time for something else.

That's almost exactly how I feel. I took it a long time ago and I'm not sure why I stopped taking it then. Maybe because of this. I just don't remember feeling this way before. Maybe my dr then stopped it before it got bad?? I did have more problems then with my ex husband that kept me in a constant state of bad anyway
