Yes.
I was in shock watching the election and then I couldn't sleep, I was kinda hypo manic leading up to the election and then as it append i was in pure shock and then depression hit. I thankfully had group therapy and a therapist appointment the next day to try and cope and talk about everything. I was more angry and anxious more than anything. I was also feeling major instability because the morning of the election we were told to find a new place to live before the holiday. I was already a lil shook up going into this terrible election. I rely on affordable care act for my medication because I don't make enough at work until i get a degree. It is very expensive to live in Chicago and I will never be able to afford my meds or therapy (once school is over) again if that is repealed. Also, being Gay, I am very fearful that my rights will be taken away and that it will be easier to discriminate against me. Finally, Going to school and learning about economics, Finance, and Business: I am utterly ashamed and scared that people who have no knowledge of simple government financials. I had a guy who works for the state tell me that he wanted taxes eliminated not realizing that taxes are what pay him. No offense to anyone who voted for Donald Trump (I dont want to fight) but his economic and financial strategies are going to really get our country is a bad situation. All I can do is try to keep having hope in the government to do what is right. |

Lots of low flying planes going over my house. I live near an Air Force base but it's just much more than usual. Do they know something I don't? Chances are high they do since I don't know much.

Yes it's affected my mood, I'm going though the stages of grief I feel like we lost out country as we know it. We will now have a imo fascist government, rights will be taken away from left and right, I believe we are headed into another civil war, and this time the wrong side will win (I.e the racists), I even fear that in the next 4yrs we could be sent to concentration camps for various reasons. I fear that they will do away with government assistance, which I'm on (SSI and Medicaid), and I will lose everything. I'm living day to day in fear of my own government and what they could and will do to our country. "Make America great again" my *****, mor like make America hate again. I've become anxious and paranoid, I believe my phone is bugged and speaking out will get ne sent to a concentration camp in the future. But I'm still speaking out, saying what is on my mind. We will all suffer the consequences of who the Conservatives voted for. I as a mentally ill, physically disabled, bisexual women fear for my life at the moment, fear of what is to come. We cannot be passive, we need to be vocal and fight for our rights before they strip then all away from us. RIP America it was nice while it lasted.

This really touched me. I can relate as I'm also a minority and feel I'm being stalked by organizations committed to seeing me locked up and shut up. (((Hugs))) |

To quote an Eminem song "I might leave in a body bag but never in cuffs" I may be over confident but I feel sorry for them in they try.

My dear sister died the week before the election. I barely had any energy by the time I came home from her funeral. Then the election hit. Sapped the bit of energy I had. I am profoundly afraid for many people. Personally, I am scared of losing my health care. So yes, the election has had a bad effect on my mind, on my body, and on my spirit. I'm working hard not to get depressed or overly anxious.

For me, it was a shock for about 10 minutes -- but of course I'm extremely worried about our future in the country, and as disabled, low income souls. After 10 minutes of shock, I determined to be part of the Resistance. I sign petitions and call politicians to get rid of the Electoral College. And I'm pushing online and in live conversations to try for positive and effective resistance methods. I write cogent, succinct letters to the editor, which get published pretty often. What did the early progressives/union organizers do in the late 19th and early 20th centuries? We need to learn how to do, and do, those effective things. I am also hoping for street theatre, like the San Francisco Mime troupe in San Francisco in the 1960s. I saw their plays/stunts many times when I lived in SF. And I've seen other street theatre events, too. I say, "Let's not spend our time grieving and in anger, but turn our grief and anger into positive resistance." We are needed!
I do a little bit. I refuse to burn myself out our allow any other activists to pressure me to do "more" than I can do in my limited time and energy. I've been an activisti since childhood, so pretty much know how to take care of myself and make a big impact. (I still don't know what the policy is on talking politics at this forum....) |

It made me happy that he won and I am still happy about it. One of the things I had read about him is he wants to address mental health issues in a positive way.
