That definitely sounds like 400mg of IR Seroquel. That'll knock you on your @ss.

If you don't mind, what is IR? I've had meds say XR and ER but never IR.

Immediate Release. It won't say it on the bottle, but if it's not XR, ER, or Sustained Release (SR), that's what it is.

My bottle might say ER. I don't remember, I don't handle my own meds. So what are XR and ER? Sorry for the questions!

eXtended Release and Extended Release. Same thing, different nomenclature. Same as Sustained Release - they all mean the same thing, just depends on how the manufacturer decides to denote it.

Some drugs behave slightly differently based on the notation. In particular I remember Wellbutrin SR and XR were manufactured at different times and behaved slightly differently based on the notation. Wellbutrin was the one med I took where I could tell a difference between the brand and generic.

Thank you for answering my questions! I was prescribed XR and got ER I think. Is there any difference in those? Should I look out for anything? XR made me sleepy enough to sleep but ER (I think) knocked me out!

For me it's for my visual/auditory hallucinations and delusions. Haven't been on it long enough to know if it works though. It's a very sedating drug. I'm knocked out at night (when I take it) and sleepy the rest of the day.

They'll probably have a nurse or your pdoc call you back.

Seroquel is not for relaxation, it's an antipsychotic with very sedating properties. If you're dealing with anxiety and need something to take the edge off, talk to your doctor about the benzodiazepines. Klonopin and Ativan are commonly prescribed for anxiety.

Okay, not making excuses here lol. I called my pdoc and they said that they can't get him to answer my question because he's moving offices. So I said ok and asked for the number of the new office, which I got. So I called that 3 times and no one answered? His name wasn't even on the list of doctors! Did she give me the wrong number? I don't even know if they have his stuff on file since he's moving... I don't even have anywhere to call to make an appointment...

I might be wrong (I don't handle my meds) but the bottle could possibly say ER, which I heard is the same as XR. I guess that means they aren't so different? Except one knocks me out. I haven't been on it long enough to see if it works for my other problems.

Thank you! I'm still not sure if that's what I have though. My mom handles the pills since I've tried to do something stupid with them before.
