Anyone here struggle with a pattern of bad dreams? Do you tend to get these dreams when in a depressive episode? I dream about really sad things a lot when I'm depressed. People pop up in my dreams from the past: random exes, friends, deceased loved ones. In the morning, I'm left upset that I'm reminded of things that make me sad.

It's almost like these sad memories haunt me. I don't usually dream about anything traumatic that's happened to me directly.....but just losses and things I really don't want to think about. Waking up to this always makes the morning the worse, so I don't feel that I start my day on a good note. What can help when it comes to coping with this problem? Any meds you've found to be helpful for this? I'm tired of waking up feeling sad and overwhelmed. I hope this passes. It's almost every night lately.

Yes. I've been wondering if it's the temazepam.
I have vivid terrible dreams. Lately I've been dreaming that my brother is blind and I'm trying to take care of him.
I wake up exhausted sweaty and freaked out. Sometimes it takes me awhile to get back to reality.

I do have bad dreams somewhat frequently. I'll wake up & have to remind myself that the situation isn't real. I think trying to make that a habit. Training to increase the speed of "awareness" has (maybe) helped me out.

That's just my individual experience. Your recollections, as described, would make me sad. I wish I had more than one lame idea to offer, but I wish you all the best in beating this. Good luck.
Thanks for this!

Thanks. I know how to use lucid dreaming but I can't always wake myself up when bad things are happening.
Lots of times I'm lost. Like in hallways with no doors.
