My cat died

She seemed a little better earlier but this evening seemed to have a stroke and we went to the vet. They said her heart was a mess, she was severely dehydrated, they too thought she'd had a stroke, they could try to save her but she very well could die while alone and on an IV and treatment might make her suffer or not help at all. So I made the obvious choice; I didn't have any plans to treat her unless they thought it was an infection and I knew from how she was acting it wasn't that simple. They had trouble even getting the IV in because her blood pressure was so low; she was leaving us even if I hadn't made that decision.

So she is gone now. I am so sad. It is so weird to not see her in her usual pet bed a few feet from me. It sounds melo-dramatic but my life will never be the same. I have never lived alone without her except the first few months of grad school. Otherwise she's been with me through everything. She could read my moods like nobody else and knew how to help me calm down,especially from panic attacks.

I so wish she'd gone in her sleep but mostly I'm glad she did not suffer and this was peaceful and quick. I'm also glad I was in the room; I wasn't sure about it but I did it and it was the right decision.

I think i need to find a movie or something. I feel lost.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's difficult when we lose a pet. Allow yourself to feel the grief.

I'm so sorry! You had her for so long, I'm sure she as family to you. I'm glad she did it suffer and I'm glad you were there to say goodbye. Treat yourself gently for awhile. Grief gets better over time.

My heart really goes out to you. I lost my golden retriever about 5 years ago now and it's still hard. It does get easier but honestly, it's so hard and devistating that I really lost it. And I only had Jesse for 7 years so I just cannot imagine after all the time you've had and all you've been through. I'm truly sorry for your loss. Please take care of yourself at this time and write to us if you need support. What is your cats name again?

Oh my god, I couldn't imagine going through that with your furbaby. I have 2 furbabies and just can't fathom it. My sincere condolences. I feel for you during this trying time.

I am a firm believer that all those beloved furbabies who we hold so dear to us in life go to the Rainbow Bridge when they pass on. The Rainbow Bridge is a special bridge that connects Heaven and Earth, and our furbabies that have gone on play there while they wait for us to join them and finally make the journey across it together so we can be with each other in Heaven, forever. May your beloved Anna play happily at the Rainbow Bridge until you two finally can make the journey across it together.

I also believe that they watch over us from the Rainbow Bridge, guiding us and protecting us like little fury guardian angels, as a way of still being with us because they love us that much. I'm sure that your Anna is there with you, sending you all the love she can, and guiding you with her gentle warm angelic light, so that you won't ever have to be alone ever again. Sure, you may not see her, but if you close your eyes, you can surely feel her love surround you. May that thought bring you some comfort in this sad time in your life.

I am so sorry for your loss. My dog died last year and it still hurts.
